Privacy Policy — MazeGo
**Last updated: 05/10/2026**
MazeGo is an augmented reality app published by MAZE REALITY LTD SC668379 (“we”, “us”),
5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 4AN. We are the data controller for the processing described here.
This policy covers the MazeGo iOS app, the MazeGo App Clip, and the AR experiences
served from mazereality.com.
The short version
We do not collect personal information, we do not use analytics or advertising,
and we do not require an account. The camera is used only to render the AR view
on your device. No images from your camera ever leave your device.
Camera
MazeGo uses your device’s camera to display the live view behind the AR portal and
to let the device understand where the floor and surfaces are.
This processing happens entirely on your device, through Apple’s ARKit framework.
We do not record, store, transmit or have any access to your camera feed, to still
images, or to any model of your surroundings. Nothing from the camera is sent to us
or to anyone else.
iOS will ask your permission before the camera is used. You can withdraw it at any
time in Settings, though the app cannot function without it.
Information processed when you use an experience
AR experiences are streamed from our servers rather than stored in the app. When you
open one, your device requests the experience’s configuration, 3D model and images
from mazereality.com.
Like most web servers, ours records standard technical information about these
requests: IP address, date and time, the files requested, and basic device/browser
information. We use this only to operate and secure the service and to diagnose
faults. We do not use it to build profiles, to track you across sites, or for
marketing. These logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted.
Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure service.
What we do not do
– No accounts, sign-in or registration
– No analytics or usage tracking
– No advertising, advertising identifiers or cross-site tracking
– No cookies or similar storage used for tracking
– No sale or sharing of personal information
– No collection of location, contacts, photos or health data
Third parties
**Links to other sites.** Some experiences include a link to a partner’s website, for
example to book a visit. If you follow one, you leave MazeGo and that site’s own
privacy policy applies. We do not pass any information about you to those sites.
**Apple.** The app and App Clip are distributed by Apple, which may collect
information about downloads and usage under its own privacy policy. We receive only
aggregate, anonymous statistics from Apple and cannot identify individual users.
App Clips
The MazeGo App Clip is a lightweight version that opens from a link or QR code
without installing the app. It processes information in exactly the same way as the
full app, and is removed by iOS automatically after a period of disuse.
Children
MazeGo is not directed at children. Some experiences are produced for venues whose
content is intended for adults, and the App Store age rating reflects this.
Your rights
Where UK/EU data protection law applies, you have the right to access, correct,
erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing
based on legitimate interests, and to data portability.
Because we do not operate accounts, the only personal data we are likely to hold is
within server logs, and we will usually need the approximate time and IP address of
your visit to locate it.
To exercise any of these rights, contact info@mazereality.com.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office
(ico.org.uk) if you believe your data has been handled improperly.
International transfers
Our servers are located in United Kingdom.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed, and
material changes will be reflected in the app listing.
